FoChrist Youth Activities & Events 2018-19

SEPT. Youth Sunday will be the second Sunday of each month. Family of Christ likes to involve EVERYONE in worship. During our "youth Sundays" students are encouraged to sign up to read, help usher, greet, serve communion or light the candles. Even if you've never participated in these ways, this is your chance to give it a try! Our worship starts at 9:30 Sundays. (5-12th Grade)

OCT. 6th-12th Grade!! Sign up to attend the Fall Retreat. This is our weekend event and begins at 6pm on Friday, Oct. 5th in the youth room. The group will drive to Camp Spring Lake Lodge in Rosemount. The weekend will be filled with games, silliness, devos and great food. Amidst the fun we discover more about our faith in God and His presence in our lives. The group spends 2 nights in their sleeping bags in the lodge and returns to the church on Sunday morning, Oct. 7th about 11:15am. This is one of the favorites of the youth as it helps everyone connect and reconnect after the long summer. Cost is 25.00 per person. A packing list can be found on the bulletin board (beginning in late Sept). as well as the sign up sheet.

Oct. 18-19th is our Cardboard Box City. 6-12th Graders are invited to help us raise money and awareness for homelessness in our own state. We get donations from neighbors, friends, family and teachers and show up on Thursday afternoon (MEA Weekend), set up our boxes to sleep in and hang out. Between cool music, videos, games and activities we learn more about this terrible issue. We eat dinner and breakfast from our own "soup lines" and we come together to try to make a difference. Sign up sheets are on the bulletin board at church.

APPLEBEES DINING TO DONATE is Tuesday, Oct. 16th. Grab a flyer at church and present it to your server between 4-9pm and they will donate 15% of your food bill to this cause

DEC On Friday, December 14th we will have our Annual Lock-In for 5-8th Graders. Some of our high school Peer Leaders help lead this fun night of games and devos. It's a great night to hang with church friends. The lock-in concludes Saturday morning with the Community Christmas Program's dress rehearsal at 9:00am.

FEB 2019  We hope all 6-12th graders will join us for the Service Blitz the weekend of Sat & Sun, Feb. 23-24. The group will meet early Saturday morning to prepare for service projects throughout the community. This year, we will even have some who participate in the Polar Plunge in Burnsville, raising money for Special Olympics! Stay tuned for more information,
